July Events Sizzle to Success

The SCA high school department organized its own General PTA this school year. Their maiden induction was held last July 29, 2010. During the program Mr. Frankline F. Antonio, the PTA president extolled the tremendous growth and success of SCA under the leadership of Pastor and Mrs. Brian Shah. He also envisioned the high school department to build a name for itself and become a brand in the community. He encouraged the administration, teachers and parents to have a symbolic relationship in making the vision doable.

On the other hand, the elementary department held their induction program last July 30. In his speech, Atty. Sandro Marie Obra, the president of PTA took the challenge of Pastor Brian to use the PTA to establish the finest link of the school, home and church.

The elementary and high school departments held their separate culminating activities to end the nutrition month celebration. With the theme “Sa pagkaing tama at sapat, wastong timbang ni baby ang katapat,” the importance of complementary feeding was focused to prevent malnutrition among the children.

The pupils presented songs, dances and poems advocating the practice of healthy lifestyle. In her message during the program Pastor May Shah stressed the importance of eating the right kind and amount of diet for quality living.

The high school students also exhibited their cooking prowess in a cook fest. Healthy foods for lunch were prepared wherein culinary skills were demonstrated in the preparation of special cuisine. Everyone had an enjoyable day of taste feasting.

Kids Have It Too

Psalm 8:2

From the lips of children and infants
you have ordained praise
because of your enemies,
to silence the foe and the avenger.

Aside from the regular Sunday and Wednesday services at Church of Our Saviour, powerful praise, worship, prayers, and preaching of God’s Word also fill the sanctuary every Monday and Tuesday when students of SCA Elementary and High School attend their Chapel services. At this time, they experience a special touch from God while they seek Him and feed on His Word. The pastors take turn to teach the little ones how to live and grow in the ways of our Lord Jesus.

Through this ministry the students receive salvation at a very young age, impact their lives through kingdom living, exercise their authority and experience security in Christ. One mother testified to that her son went home one Monday, and with so much conviction and hugging himself, told his mom “Mom, even if you whack me, Jesus still loves me, and I know you love me too.” Both were teary eyed.

What Parents and Kids are saying:

The Christian foundation and faith that the school is giving to my son is not just important but very important!Mrs. Virgie Martin, Parent

I like every part of it…the worship, the teaching, the praying… everything is good!

-Igy Agonoy , Grade I-Romans

I know that there are many things in my life that need to change and I’m glad Jesus is here to help me. I’m blessed with His goodness and I’m finding the ministry more and more fun.- Cheska Taylan, SCAHS II- Virtues

Power To Act

To establish the finest link between the parents, teachers, and students, the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) is established with a yearly set of officers.

Recently, SCA had just finished electing the officers of the PTA. The two plausible Presidents in both departments are Atty. Sandro Marie Obra for the Elementary department and Mr. Franklin F. Antonio for High School department. The said organization will be of great help in promoting a favorable climate for a comprehensive and timely infusion of actions related to the welfare and development of the students/pupils, school and community. With this collaboration, SCA will be a prime pillar of learning in our locality.

The newly witty and strong set of officers of the PTA this 2010-2011 are the following.

The main goals of the organization are to foster closer relations between parents and our faculty, focusing on every consideration of our students’ well being both physically and spiritually.

The whole administration and staff believe that they will serve in a manner that encourages confidence, cooperation, understanding and trust among other members.

In lieu of this, the constitution and by laws of the high school department are finished and ready for approval by the members before its implementation, displaying clear goals, purposes and different regulations of the PTA and the school.

With a strong fusion of our new officers and members, the full support of the administration and the continuous grace of our Lord, SCA will raise her standards and vision as the center of transformative and community formation education.

THE STARTING POINTS

The Saviour’s Christian Academy welcomes the enthusiastic Saviourites this school year 2010-2011 with an outburst of innovations and transformations – new environment, new facets, new phases and faces.

This year, novel starting points have been launched towards excellence and growth…

  • The Orientation

To start the year right, SCA conducted its Orientation Program last June 15 in the school’s sanctuary to familiarize the students, especially to the newbies with new policies of the school and to introduce the faculty and other personnel of the Foundation.

The English Speaking Policy was greatly emphasized to the students because it is the trademark of the institution. Ptr. Brian Shah, President of SCA imparted his inspirational message to the Saviourites. He encouraged us to soar high and excel more than before and encouraged those who are in difficulties.

  • The Construction

With the growing population of SCA, more buildings and other facilities were installed to accommodate new students maintaining the star quality of our education.

From 28 students, the high school population went up to 71 dramatically. Thus, the second floor of the HS building was constructed consisting of three air-conditioned rooms with bathroom in each.

  • The Integration

Beginning this year, the Singaporean Math Curriculum, which is one of the world’s best, was integrated in the Math classes in the primary levels. This is to intensify the Math skills of the pupils especially in problem solving.

With this head start of transformation, SCA shall stand through ages of existence, grown…with a promise to impart excellent education to our students in becoming champions.

“Onward to Success”

Mission Statement
The mission of Saviour’s Christian Academy is to provide our students with a balanced and well-rounded education, develop them to their full potential, and nurture them into good citizens, mindful of their responsibilities to family, society, and country. Teach them to learn to be independent, yet able to work closely with others; individually competitive, yet with a strong social conscience, flexible in mind and outlook to adapt constantly to a rapidly changing world. Edify them to lead a full and satisfying life, to be God fearing, having firm moral bearings to give them strength in a world of shifting values.

Beginnings

The school began in 1989 as “Saviour’s Kindergarte” located at the back of our old church along A. Castro Avenue, Laoag City. Since then she has grown from Nursery to full elementary school. The school started as a free school but due to high operational cost and the need to hire better qualified teachers to meet the demand of quality education, a highly subsidized school fees was introduced in 1993. However full scholarship is available for the less fortunate students.

The school is fully recognized and given the permit to operate by the Dept of Education.

Subjects Concentration.

English, Math and Science.

Hands on computer lessons from Nursery to grade 6.

Parent’s Involvement.
We can only succeed in our mission with the full support and confidence of the parents. We seek to work together with them as partners, to develop our students to their fullest potential. Education will make our student’s future, while our students will make the future of the nation.

SCA PLEDGE

We, the students of Saviour’s Christian Academy

Pledge ourselves to love our Lord Jesus Christ

To be loyal to the school and nation

To be deligent, honest, to aim high

And to achieve success in our ambition

So as to be useful in our country.
